The True Cost of Wedding Photography

"Affordable." That word may be all you can think about! Understandably so. Wedding costs add up and it can be tempting to cut wherever you can! Most only think about the $ sign. But what about the level of expertise you desire? The style you want? What's included? Is this photographer even worth spending the whole day with??!

It's crucial to recognize the value of booking a reliable and skilled professional. It may cost you even more if you go with just what's "cheapest." Here are a few real facts to help you determine a realistic budget for wedding photography.

MARKET RATES

Rates can vary significantly depending on location, the photographer's experience, and the services offered. Keep in mind that established photographers may charge higher rates, but they often deliver exceptional service. The average hourly rate is $350-$800 for wedding photographers in the US. State sales tax is also a factor.

I work more hours than most do at weddings. I also work about 10 hrs for every 1 hr of shooting. When you add up all those hours, you can see why my wedding packages are affordable.

QUALITY vs. BUDGET

While it may be tempting to opt for the cheapest photographer available, remember that you often get what you pay for. A cheap photographer may provide average photos or a bad experience. Investing in a skilled and pleasant photographer can make a significant difference in the outcome of your photos and memories!

I turn memories into art. I'm also easy-going and fun to be around. You'll have the FEELINGS when you look at my images. Suggestion: put 15-20% of your wedding budget towards photography.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

When comparing photographers' prices, consider what services are included in their packages. Does your photographer only work 6 hours? Are engagement photos included? What about keepsakes? Are they insured? Evaluate these offerings and determine their value to you when making your decision.

I offer more than the average photographer does. Engagement session? Yes. Gorgeous photo album? Yes. No hour limit? Yes. Even more? Yes!

DISCOUNTS

Don't be afraid to negotiate. Some photographers may be willing to customize their packages or offer discounts for off-peak wedding dates or shorter coverage hours. One way you can save money with me, is by choosing to pay in full - I offer a huge discount for doing so!

Ultimately, there is no one-size-fits-all answer to how much you should spend on a wedding photographer. But if you invest with me, I'll make sure your DAY ONE is captured in a way you'll cherish forever.

And that's priceless.
